August 7, 2026 9:00 pm - 11:30 pm
The Oddballs and Outlaws Tour is a high-energy, eclectic variety show featuring a mix of country-western music and unhinged comedy/magic. Clownvis is a viral crooning comedy sensation known for a wildly entertaining stage presence. IV and the Strange Band is an uncompromising true Nashville country act fronted by Coleman Williams. You can expect a vibrant, strange-as-hell stage energy that encourages the audience to clown around and honky tonk about throughout the evening.
IV and the Strange Band return to Nebraska for a show at The Zoo Bar on Friday. Who is IV? Well his father is Hank Williams III, his grand pappy is Hank Williams Jr. and his great grandfather is…well yeah you got it. He hasn’t put out any music recently, but his 2023 album was produced by Shooter Jennings whose dad is…ok ok. Also on the lineup is Clownvis whose father was El…no…he is just a clown Elvis who hangs out with Weird Al. -MarQ Manner, Omaha Buzz music columnist.

JASON CARTER BAND Friday, August 21 9pm $25adv/$30dos https://www.ticketweb.com/event/jason-carter-band-at-the-zoo-bar-tickets/14909803
In Lloyd, Kentucky, on U.S. 23, there’s a sign on the Country Music Highway dedicated to renowned fiddler Jason Carter. It was placed there because of his other accomplishments—the Grammy awards, the worldwide tours, and the many other accolades he’s earned through his music. But for Carter, joining the legendary names honored on that stretch of highway just might mean the most. "There's a certain sound that's up there that you just don't hear anywhere else," he says. "I think that played a big part in how I sound today."
Carter has been featured on albums by Steve Earle, Ricky Skaggs, Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Asleep at the Wheel, and many more, all in addition to his tireless touring and recording with Del as well as the Travelin’ McCourys!
"It has been the honor of a lifetime to spend the last 33 years making music with The Del McCoury Band. After a considerable amount of thought, I’ve decided to say my farewell to Del and the Travelin’ McCourys in order to pursue my solo career as The Jason Carter Band.
I feel so much gratitude to these guys for nearly a lifetime of education in bluegrass music. I consider them to be not only the best musicians in the world, but the finest people you’d ever meet, and I couldn’t have picked a better boss or co-workers to be on this bluegrass journey with. At this point in time, I feel that everything in my world is pointing me in the direction of starting my own band and pursuing my solo career."
